Residency & Fellowship Program

Our department offers two types of training – Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency and Spinal Cord Injury Medicine Fellowship.  In addition, we accept visiting medical students as well as observers from the US and internationally.  Please refer to the following links for relevant information.

Residency Overview
This is a three year PM&R training program at Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami. Our task goes well beyond learning skills or acquiring knowledge.  We regard this residency program as one that provides a large diverse patient setting for educating residents.  We have been entrusted with the care of the sick and disabled. We must work together to serve them in the most comprehensive and compassionate manner possible.

We ensure that each resident receives a high quality educational and personal growth experience during their years with the program.  For the three years, each resident will become part of the “face” that the Department of Rehabilitation assumes among our colleagues in the hospital and medical school.  For additional information please visit the link below;

Fellowship Overview
This one-year fellowship offers physicians the opportunity for clinical and research training in Spinal Cord Injury Medicine. This program is designed to provide the framework for you to implement the philosophy of the practice of Rehabilitation Medicine and apply it to the highly complex medical patient population that is Spinal Cord Injury.  By completing this Residency, you will be exposed to a large enough patient population that has the full array of spinal cord injuries and diseases that you will encounter throughout your career The Jackson Memorial Hospital, in conjunction with the University of Miami School of Medicine is one of Florida’s designated Brain and SCI Centers.  For additional information please visit the link below;
